<p>QR codes come to us from Japan where they are very common. They are square bar codes that allow companies to tag web addresses to ….and when users scan these bar codes using their mobile phone devices…..the QR code takes the user to a target web page, which provides further details on a product or service.</p>

<p><strong>How does your phone read the code?</strong></p>
<p>The phone needs a QR code reader, like the ‘QR Droid’ app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. Once you have installed and launched the app, the phones camera becomes a bar code reader and can be used to read any QR code. Once it has captured the address…you will be taken to that target web page.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Designed specifically to provide validated, performance qualified UV treatment of water in pharmaceutical, biotech and other high purity applications, </span><a href="http://www.hanovia.com/"><span style="color: #0000ff; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Hanovia</span></a><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">’s new PharmaLine PQ UV system takes biosecurity to the next level. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Guaranteeing water of the highest possible quality as demanded by regulatory bodies such as the United States FDA (including Good Manufacturing Practice), the PharmaLine PQ is, in effect, a low-cost insurance policy for manufacturers. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">“I see it as a kind of ‘policeman’, guarding your system and offering you peace of mind that your process is safe,” says Halim Mirza, Hanovia’s global business manager for industrial applications. “This is because its disinfection performance and dose calculation has been verified by a 3</span><sup><span style="font-size: x-small;">rd</span></sup><span style="font-size: small;"> party. The advanced controller continuously calculates the dose, responding to changes in water quality, and will alarm should the dose deviate from the set limits. Comprehensive validation documentation is also available to enable the UV system’s performance to be verifiable throughout its operation period,” he added.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The PharmaLine PQ is ideal for high purity applications with optimised flow rates. All wetted parts are manufactured from FDA-compliant materials and the system is approved to international standards including CE, UL, NSF/NSF61 and IEC (on selected models).</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">A revolutionary feature of the PharmaLine PQP model is its optimised, absolute intensity UV monitor. Located within the chamber, it allows the controller to automatically correct the dose calculation as UV transmittance varies without the need for an external UV transmittance monitor. In addition, the factory-calibrated dry UV sensor provides absolute UV intensity monitoring in real-time and, because it remains outside the water flow, it can be removed and inspected without interrupting the process. The dry monitor also allows for field verification using a portable reference UV sensor. Its patented shutter port means there is no risk of UV exposure and no need for the operator to wear safety equipment while performing the field verification. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Smart controls ensure continuous monitoring and real-time display of the verified RED (reduction equivalent dose) and allow three levels of password-protected security and provide Modbus output to SCADA systems, allowing event logging. In addition, the controller has an on-board message display panel and many other safety and alarm features. Another unique feature of the control system is that it allows repeated lamp restarts without effecting lamp life, as is the case with many other UV systems.</span></span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Hanovia uses the latest generation of high efficiency, long life amalgam lamps, all of which use the latest electronic ballast, ensuring extended lamp life (typically in excess of 10,000 hours).</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Installation or retrofitting of PharmaLine PQ UV systems into existing pipework and vessels is relatively straightforward, requiring minimum disruption and site preparation. Once installed, the production plant can be kept operational 24 hours a day, without the necessity of shutting down the system for routine sanitisation and sterilisation. When a lamp needs to be changed is it a simple procedure that can usually be done by on-site personnel with no specialist training.</span></span></p>

<p>Hanovia’s new PharmaLine SD UV system has been designed specifically to provide cost-effective, highly reliable disinfection and de-ozonation for mid-tier pharmaceutical and biotech companies in China.</p>
<p>Water passing through the CFD-modelled treatment chamber is exposed to UV light which destroys the reproductive abilities of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, yeasts, moulds and algae. In addition, the UV is highly effective at destroying ozone molecules present in the water, breaking them down in harmless by-products.</p>
<p>By closely monitoring absolute UV intensity and showing the real-time working status of each UV chamber, the PharmaLine SD ensures a 99.99% reduction of microorganisms. In addition, an online duty sensor can be checked against an optional reference sensor to ensure the UV unit is always performing within specification.</p>
<p>The quality standards required for purified water in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetics, healthcare and biotechnology industries have never been stricter, with manufacturers having to conform to an ever increasing number of standards. Hanovia’s PharmaLine SD UV system guarantees water of the highest possible quality.</p>
<p>PharmaLine SD UV systems can be installed at various points along the water purification system depending upon the individual site requirements. Installation or retrofitting into existing pipework and vessels is relatively straightforward, requiring minimum disruption and site preparation. Once installed, the production plant can be kept operational 24 hours a day, without the necessity of shutting down the system for routine sanitisation and sterilisation.</p>
<p>The PharmaLine SD’s UV lamps are manufactured in-house by Hanovia and have very long lives (typically in excess of 10,000 hours). When they need to be replaced is it a simple procedure that can usually be done by on-site personnel with no specialist training.</p>

<p>Designed specifically to provide chemical-free treatment of water used in the food and beverage processing industries, Hanovia has launched its new PureLine SD range of UV systems for disinfection and de-ozonation.</p>
<p>Water passing through the CFD-modelled treatment chamber is exposed to UV light which deactivates microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, yeasts, moulds and algae. In addition, the UV is highly effective at destroying ozone molecules present in the water.</p>
<p>By closely monitoring absolute UV intensity and showing the real-time working status of each UV chamber, the PureLine SD ensures a 99.99% reduction of microorganisms. In addition, an online duty sensor can be checked against an optional reference sensor to ensure the UV unit is always performing within specification.</p>

<p>There are many applications for UV disinfection and de-ozonation systems in the food and beverage industries, including: treatment of incoming water and CIP (Clean-in-Place) rinse water; dechlorination; disinfecting cooling media, sugar syrups, liquid sugars and de-aerated liquor; and brine disinfection in the meat packaging industry.</p>
<p>The SD range is rated to IP54 and has a state of the art controller which allows three levels of security. In addition, the controller can also provide Modbus output, has an on-board message display panel, as well as many other safety and alarm features. Another unique feature of the SD control system that it allows repeated lamp restarts without drastically effecting lamp life, as is the case with conventional UV systems.</p>
