UV Disinfection of Air in Industrial Applications

Air normally has bacteria, fungi, spores and viruses present. Hanovia UV Air Disinfection Systems are compact and easy to install and very effective in both moving air and static air applications.

Hanovia NQ500 Mobile Air Treatment Solution

This system is ideal for applications requiring an urgent solution to control microbial airborne infections. This compact mobile unit can easily and quickly be brought in the room at risk.

Consisting of three levels of mechanical filtration as well as a UV purification zone, the system constantly produces purified and sanitised air, with a uniform optimisation of air flow and air volume within the entire room. The technology is patented, well proven and also responds to the norm ISO 14644 for clean rooms achieving an ISO 6.

UVI and UVV Systems for Moving Air

Moving Air Disinfection

Increasingly strict standards for product quality and personal safety are not always met by air filtration alone. More and more food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries are choosing to use UV in air ducts.

Prime applications include:
  • Air to aseptic and sensitive areas for food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and electronics industries
  • Air to clean rooms and laboratories

Static Air Disinfection

UVI System for Static Air

Static or slow moving air is most effectively treated by a Hanovia UV unit mounted in the ceiling or in the top of a tank.

Key areas for UV treatment of static air includes:
  • Tank head space in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries
  • Filling machines for sensitive products
  • Clean rooms and beverage filling rooms

An example application is shown below:

Sugar Disinfection System
Micro-organisms and spores can be drawn into the storage tank through air or in the concentrated sugar syrup. At high sugar concentrations these organisms remain dormant. However, condensation forming in the tank head space will produce 'pools' of dilute sugar solution on the syrup surface. These provide an ideal growth site for micro-organisms. Continuous UV treatment of the tank head space prevents this potential source of spoilage organisms
